Designer uses the concept of "raw earth and wild sky" to convey a great connection between art creation and the natural environment. The ceiling, the floor and the wall in the exhibition center represent the whole universe. The dark grey carpet symbolizes the rich soil giving rise to green plants.This is a design to express respect to the natural world which inspires many artists.

源自對台灣土地的情份，誕生出這間以典藏台灣藝術家作品為主的台灣美術館。以「大地‧蒼穹」的概念，感念自然萬物與藝術創作間不可分割的緊密關係。天地壁形塑成一個盒體，意即萬物宇宙的縮影，正如「天圓如張蓋，地方如棋局」，展覽白牆與天花連成一線的天蓋，天蓋上是不規則形狀的皺摺翻覆著大地，宛如蒼穹溫暖地包覆地表，象徵著藝術家細看蒼天，柔觸大地所涵養的藝術創作。
