Drawn to the tranquil atmosphere along the Tamsui River, the owner chose this location as a holiday retreat. To create a harmonious relationship with nature, we avoided clearly delineating spaces with walls. Instead, people can freely gather and converse or find their own cozy corner, enjoying the ease of movement and togetherness within the boundless scenery, leaving only poetry in the quietude. In this seemingly silent space, the subtle gradation of limestone, the delicate textures of silver-gray travertine, and the rustic charm of aged wooden doors—each material quietly releases the warmth of time in its understated beauty. In contrast to the calm tones of the public areas, the private collection room reflects the resident's love of fountain pens. Here, we boldly extended this passion by incorporating rosewood, a material commonly used in pen making, which has been treated with a red lacquer finish. This lends a unique continuity to the space, infusing it with a serene yet vibrant essence.
